WHATS NEW WITH ARC v2.0?
From the outset, we wanted the features of ARC to be as easily accessible as possible to all users of an APC40 mkII irrespective of knowledge. With this in mind, we created our simple, single page user interface.
To enter the user interface, simply press [SESSION] on your controller.
*Fader Saver (FDRSVR)
As our controller gets older, the AKAI APC40 has a tendancy to start sending erratic MIDI data on the faders. It’s annoying at the very least, and in some cases can lead to problems mapping your target application.
We are proud to introduce to you Fader Saver.

*Dual MIDI Ports
With ARC v2.0 you can now control up to two seperate applications with the one MIDI controller and still have eight channels of MIDI for each target application.

*NEW Navigation Update
New channel navigation options, and a more stable, resilliant core to ARC have been implimented.
We’re still working to expand ARC’s navigation with momentary touch across all channels, however we wanted to get this out as soon as possible.

*Introducing Colour Ribbons
Previously there was only one option when it came to having a colour palette available to you. Hard baked into one of the few templates.
With ARC v2.00 this has changed. You can now choose to have the colour ribbon on any available template, on any channel.
Using the topmost [SCENE LAUNCH] button you can cycle through the two new palettes and turn it off with a further press.
Choose between the original RGB ribbon (RGBCMYWO) or the requested MA style pallette (RYGCBMWO).


*Extra Template Options
Originally there were only three options for your APC40’s layout. With version 2.00 we have upped the ante and now there is a choice of ten different templates. We have increased the vertical templates with the addition of the new eight (8) column version and have now included five (5) new horizontal layouts.
We have also included two templates based upon the original colour palette picker (RGBCMYKO) and a colour variation for the MA users of ARC (RYGCBMWO).
Simply cycle through all the available templates by using the second [SCENE LAUNCH] button from the ARC UI.

*LED Ring Feedback
ARC v2.00 has improved pot MIDI feedback on all available channels.
Previously (we’ll admit it) it was a bit hit and miss when it came to how it handled the return data.
With the re-written core to ARC we have got each of the 256 pots split across sixteen (16) channels working as it should have been from the outset.
Once again from a Resolume perspective this is great for havnig your clips playheads feeding back directly to the LED rings, which in turn is great for live scratching content.
Fader Routing
Copy fader groups to other channels with ease.
Previously fader routing, even though implimented was not particularly obvious or even well documented (sorry about that!).
With the new core of version 2.00 thats all changed.
As Resolume users, we found that having more clips available to trigger meant we had to use channel 2 and 3 to access them. Which caused issues as the faders on 2 and 3 respectively were not mapped to Resolumes layer opacity.
Fader routing and it’s sister feature [POT ROUTING] was born.
Firstly, the channel navigation buttons will be live, reflecting the channel you were on before entering the user interface (this is of importance).
Solid orange if in the lower channels (1 to 8) and blinking if using the higher channels (9 – 16). The speed of the blink (see ‘DUAL MIDI PORTS above) will denote which MIDI port the higher channels are outputting to.
To ‘set’ in this example channel 1’s faders to next 4 channels, it is a simple case of selecting all the other buttons from the first [AB] button right through to channel 4’s [AB] button.
Likewise, you could leave the UI, change channel to 5 and reenter the UI to copy channel 5’s faders to any of the available channels (overwriting any previous change as it goes).
Pot Routing
Updated POT Routing
Pot routing follows the same method as fader routing with one key difference.
You have to choose to switch from fader routing to pot routing in the UI. To switch between the two simply press the [MASTER] button (located above the [MASTER] fader and [MASTER] pot.
You will see the UI changes between [FA] and [PO] to let you know which one you are modifying, and the [MASTER] button will change from a solidy lit button (fader routing) to a flashing one (pot routing).
Exit the UI and the changes will be live.
